The table is a focal point of life. It brings a household together to nourish body and our heart. It is a microcosm of community.
The Naked Table Project was created by Vermont furniture makers Shackleton Thomas as a way to promote a sustainable lifestyle, connect people to each other and the environment by making things by hand. The project evolved as Shackleton Thomas’ way of expressing that passion.
This is a passion shared by both Imagine Bloomfield and Windhorse Farm. We are thrilled to be collaborating with Shackleton Thomas to bring the first Naked Table project outside of Vermont to you, here in Halifax!
Over the course of the day participants will work in teams of two, assembling and finishing their tables. Following the workshop participants will enjoy a local-food feast around the new tables before returning to their individual homes.
